Click Browse in the left toolbar to browse indexes of the database.
Browsing is a quick way to locate a journal. It enables you to scroll
through the alphabetical title index or the ISSN index of the database.
Type the beginning of a title in the text box or check the ISSN box and type an ISSN number.
Click Submit to browse. You can use the Alphabetical Links to
click on a letter to jump to the part of the title list that contains
all titles with names beginning with the letter in question.
Do not use "The", "A" or "An" if it occurs in the beginning of the
title, as the system ignores these.

the journal titles and holdings held by the Technical Information Center of Denmark
(i.e. both paper based and electronic journals)

Journals in science, technology and medicine
In this part of List of Journals you browse the journal titles
held by the Technical Information Center of Denmark and other technical libraries and databases.
The Browse result is a display of records from your latest browse.
The display includes journal titles and basic holdings information.
The information shows where the journal can be found:

ALIS (Paperbased) links to the library catalogue ALIS.

DADS (Electronic) links to Digital Article Database Service.

DADS (Table of contents) links to Digital Article Database Service.

Journal homepage (Electronic) links to the journal homepage in question.

Only via Special Order in ALIS links to the library catalogue ALIS.
View the journal description
To view one of the journal descriptions, click the title link and the full description
of the journal will appear. To go back to the Browse result from the View of one journal,
click the browsers Back button.
The List of Journals is a database for locating journals. The resources are divided into
two parts to direct users to the data they need.
List of Journals - part 1: Journals at the iTechnical Information Center of Denmark
This is the complete list of journals in the Technical Information Center of Denmark. With
this tool you can find exactly which journals the Technical Information Center of Denmark has access to, and where you will find them.
From every journal description we have provided information on, whether you have fulltext
access to the articles, or if you can access the journal in paper at the Technical Information Center of Denmark.
List of journals - part 2: Journals in science, technology and medicine
In this part you search journals held by both the Technical Information Center of Denmark and other
technical libraries and databases. When a journal is located in the Technical Information Center of Denmark you will be given access
information. When a journal is located in one of the other technical libraries or databases
you must order the article via ALIS the Technical Information Center of Denmark library catalogue.
How to get the articles

When locating articles from the journals in paper, the List of Journals will link to ALIS - the Technical Information Center of Denmark
library catalogue. In ALIS you can either order the article, or you can find the journals location in the Technical Information Center of Denmark.

When locating articles from the journals in electronic fulltext, the List of Journals will link to
either DADS - Digital Article Database Service or the homepage of the journal,
where you can download the articles directly.

When locating articles from journals not at the Technical Information Center of Denmark, you must order these via
Reference Linker.
Characters are recommended to be searched as is or use a wildcard instead of the character:

The feedback option lets you send feedback or questions on all aspects of the
List of Journals database. We welcome both comments on technical problems, the design
and requests for more information. Fill out the form with your comments. If you would
like a direct response to your comment(s), please include your e-mail address.
We will answer all questions within 2 workdays. If urgent questions please
contact the Technical Information Center of Denmark tel. 45 25 72 50 between 11-15 on workdays.
Help is available at any stage. Each screen in List of Journals has a button marked
- This gives information about the current screen. The left menu has a Help option
for the whole database. If you have any other questions please use the Feedback option
at the left side of the screen.
Logical operators are used to combine search terms, thereby expanding or reducing
the number of hits in a search.
Use
AND to narrow searches
The operator specifies that two words or phrases must occur.
E.g. searching for sun and wind find records containing both words
OR to broaden searches
The operator specifies that either of two words or phrases must occur
E.g. searching for sun or wind find records containing either of these words
NOT to narrow searches
The operator excludes records containing certain words from your search
E.g. searching for sun not wind find records containing the word sun but without the word wind.
Click Search in the left menu to get to the Search page.
Enter a keyword or phrase in one or more of the text boxes.
Build a search strategy
The pull-down menus at the left side of the text boxes allow you to specify the fields in
which words should appear. The more boxes you fill out the more focused the search becomes.
Search fields are:
- All fields
- Journal title
- UDC classification
- ISSN
- Keywords
- Description
- Corporate name
Logical operators
You can specify the search by using the Logical Operators:
AND, OR, NOT which you choose in the drop-down menu at the right of the text boxes.
Only electronic full text
Check the Electronic fulltext box and your search will be limited to those full text journals,
which match your search criteria.

Using a truncation symbol will allow you to search for variant endings of a word
In List of Journals the truncation symbol is ?
E.g. searching for operat? will find: Operation, operations, operator, operators, operational, operatic, etc.
This page provides bibliographic information about the journal. Here you can find
holdings for the journal as well as information about the publisher and other relevant information.

You will have one or more of the following possibilities to find the journal.

Continue searching
- Go back to your last search by clicking the browsers Back button.
- Make new searches by clicking the links in the description.
- View the previous or next journal in your search by clicking Previous / Next.
Using a wildcard symbol can substitute for one or more letters if you are not sure
of the spelling of a word or name. In List of journals the wildcard symbol is ?
E.g. Searching for col?r will find: color, colour, etc.
Legal Notice
Users must respect the current license terms. Commercial utilization of data, systematic
downloading (including entire books or journals) and systematic storing of data is
strictly prohibited.
Visitors to the library (walk-in users) may use the majority of the license imposed
information resources of the Technical Information Center of Denmark. In order to use the
license imposed information resources in other places than at the library, you are required
to be registered as a student or employee at DTU. Remote access is strictly personal and
may only be used for a personal study or research purpose.
It is furthermore prohibited to pass on a DTU log-in and password to others and to use a
remote access in connection with other places of employment.
